Bringing Refillable Water Bottles to Walt Disney World: A Park-by-Park Guide

Yes, you can bring your own refillable water bottles and snacks into all four Walt Disney World theme parks. Packing your own saves money, cuts down on single-use plastic, and keeps the whole crew hydrated through long Florida days and longer lines.

Below: the rules you need to know, a park-by-park guide to matching your kids' FUNtainer® bottles and food jars to the lands they'll love most, and a grown-up bottle that handles coffee at rope drop and ice water by afternoon.

The rules: what you can bring

Disney allows outside food and nonalcoholic drinks as long as they aren't in glass, don't need heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or temperature control in the park, and don't have strong odors. Let a Security Cast Member know you're carrying food when you enter. (Disney FAQ)

Rule What it means for you
No glass Stainless steel bottles and food jars are fine. Glass baby food jars are the only exception.
No alcohol Water, juice, milk and coffee only.
Bag and cooler size Nothing larger than 24" L x 15" W x 18" H.
No loose or dry ice Use reusable ice packs, or skip ice entirely with a vacuum-insulated bottle.

Prepare food before you arrive Pack meals and snacks at your hotel, ready to eat.

Park-by-park: match the bottle to the magic

Every FUNtainer® bottle is vacuum-insulated stainless steel that keeps drinks cold up to 12 hours with no ice. Choose a 12oz straw lid or a 16oz spout lid for older kids. Pair any bottle with a matching 10oz food jar for fresh fruit, crackers or a packed lunch.

What to pack in the food jar

FUNtainer® food jars keep food cold up to 7 hours or hot up to 5. Pack berries, grapes, cut melon or yogurt cold. For mac and cheese, fill the jar at your hotel right before you head out so it's ready to eat at lunch, no reheating needed.

For the grown-ups: coffee at rope drop, ice water by noon

The Disney Signature Collection is a 16oz stainless steel bottle with refined character art of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck or Stitch. It keeps drinks hot up to 10 hours or cold up to 24 hours.

Fill it with coffee before the bus to the park and sip it hot through your first two or three queues. Once the cup's empty, rinse it at a restroom sink and refill with ice water from any quick-service counter for the afternoon. The push-button lid with locking ring keeps it from leaking in your park bag.
